Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. Her father Sergey (d. 2019) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk on 5 May 1998. In her career she has had 12 WTA singles titles, including the Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. She is also an excellent doubles player. She has won two Majors to her name in this category, the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both with Elise Mertens. She took home two majors, her first WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian teammate, and completed what is known as the Sunshine Double. This feat was only achieved by four couples playing in female doubles. In January of 2023 she achieved her highest rank in singles. The 23rd day of August 2021, she climbed into the top two spot of World rankings. The same year she won at Melbourne, and after that moved up to number one worldwide in doubles. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the 2019 season in 2018 and through the close of the season. Dieter Kindlmann coached her briefly between August 2020 and September. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow nationman, has been her coach from the year 2020. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her idols.
